Ground heating in greenhousesHeating the soil in greenhouses with a cable heating system allows you to warm up the soil for harvesting in early spring. Heating cables are laid only under the beds. The optimal soil temperature at the root level depends on the type of plant and is selected in the range from +15 ° C to +24 ° C (consult an agronomist).  To achieve optimal soil temperature, a power of 70-100 iat the same time, it is recommended to use heating sections CH-10, CH-15 or LPG with a built-in thermostat. The power of the heating cable should not exceed 15 W / m, since too high power and, accordingly, high temperature can dry out the root system of plants. To reduce heat loss, it is necessary to use effective thermal insulation with a thickness of at least 5 cm (preferably with a minimum moisture absorption coefficient). To regulate the temperature of the soil, we recommend using a temperature controller with a temperature sensor.

Installation instructions:

  • Ground heating in greenhousesInitially , a trench of the required dimensions is dug with a depth of 55-60 cm . The bottom of the trench must be leveled and heat insulation laid with a thickness of 5 cm.
  • Then the sand is filled in with a thickness of 5 cm .
  • Next, a masonry grid with a cell of 50mm or 100mm is laid. The fastening of the heating cable to the grid is carried out with plastic brackets or pieces of insulated wire. The recommended step of laying the heating cable is 15 cm.
  • Then the sand with a thickness of 5 cm is filled in again .
  • Ground heating in greenhousesNext, a metal welded mesh with a small cell is laid to protect the heating section from damage by shovels or other agricultural implements.
  • Ground heating in greenhousesThe fertile layer is poured over sand with a thickness of at least 30 cm . All work on installation and connection to the 220 V, 50 Hz network must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Rules for the Installation of Electrical Installations (PUE). For safety reasons, the heating section must be connected to a grounded outlet via a protective disconnection device (RCD).
